AMASHIWI

ctd from article below
am not bored more of cold as the leaves on my plant show [ice]. these are the lessons prides son was asked to learn from wisdom,
by the way hes names wrath.
1.Remember my name and where I live
2.Let what I teach you be expressed in your household in the same way as its done here as thats my will
ie just go and love.
3.As am your teacher I hold no grudges against you even when you falter do that too.
4.Ill give you all the daily requirements
5.When in danger call upon me and ill tell you what to do.
ill deliver you and help you, avoid the wrong paths.
wrath thought these were such easy lessons he did all of them masterd them wrote them in books on certain occasions he even added hes own as it wouldnt all be too easy, he thought. he went on to wisdom and told him he was more than ready
he showed him a card to justify how good a learner he was and that he even punnished those who didnt adhere to the rules.
wisdom looked at him and said
wrath I didnt tell you to be a teacher nor did i ask you to beg in my name, but to do what I said
love.wrath told wisdom that he did all that, and even attended seminars on love wrote books, healed the sick, amassed fortunes to spread the word.
wrath, wisdom said thats all good but the love is for you in your heart all the others come to me at their time.
when you have love in your heart youll forgive, you wont punish those who are different from you, you wont label them because youll remember how you were too, when you love youll give and not take....to be ctd

AMASHIWI

Once upon a time in never land lived two old men legend has it that they have lived forever however one of them was created by the other.
the two men were called wisdom and pride respectivel.they had children who all seemed to live side by side.
one day pride'son noticed that in wisdoms household all went well even when it was obvious that they had problems they walked about in jolly good moods, they knew when to plant and harvest and they owned the health and wealth that the world could offer and it did not make them miserable as compared to their camp.
in prides household money brought problems drug abuse alcohol abuse, and all the wrongs of the world.
so prides son asked Wisdom out of curiosity how to be like them.
wisdom told him it was all very simple, then pride' son marvelled and imagined a world where they would be no troubles and despite the fact that he would be in trouble if hes father found out he went on to ask wisdom to start teaching him.
the lessons were simple and they were to be done daily
they went as follows
to be ctd am in work!!!!!

AMASHIWI

Festive times are usually the times when most couples or families argue the most, usually about the most trivial things.
the best advice,
for a change be wrong, accept to be wrong in the most polite way I know sometimes all doesnt work but as my old grandma used to say
if hubby says the sky is pink give him a pat on the back and say yes dear I too i've noted that, though its usually when am fast asleep ill try and stay up to make sure I dont miss it.and if wife says we need new furniture the last thing you should say is theres no money
back to granma she'd say yes darling youre always right thats why i have paid for the one to be dropped in a years time but ill see what I can do to make it come even earlier.
Its a pity granmas advice always comes as a last resort after youve had migraleve for the headache.

AMASHIWI

Its that time of the season when most of us have a long list of names and supposedly gifts which we hope to get to our friends and loved ones, however, it usually happens in my case that only half the names get the gifts and are usually the children coz there priceless.
how I wish i could have a blog where people could check out what I had intended for the them
this time around am thinking my list should not extend any further than last years but for some bizarre reason I have come across more friends who seem to have so much meaning to me , I was hoping that feeling would wane of by the 25 Dec
but then that would be premeditated
so if you know youre my mate and youre reading this youll probably get a gift from me and if you dont ill try and do some kind loving poems to ease the pain
as for my better half hoping he will remember to change the gift this year{sounds like a public Complaint}
unconditional giving is priceless too!!!

To A Friend

Theres nothing as sad as writing about a friend whose died.
Death creates a hollow deep enough to steer those emotions with in us.
like the silent breeze over the stormy sea, it speaks beyond where we can reach.
Dr katungu Kabubi passed away last week in New york,
In a traffic accident
To all his family and close Friends to whom I write and those who do read my blog
Though dying young is sad, its knowing that at such a tender age he touched so many lives both as a medical practioner in a busy metropolitan city and just as the guy next door who loved to have a laugh and joke around with everybody
may he's happy smile live on forever
and may he's soul and spirit blossom on the other side as it did here on earth in the comforts of the almighty.
God Bless.

HIV ADVANCES

US researchers have found a protein - p27SJ - extracted from the herb St John's wort suppresses HIV-1 gene expression.
The study by Philadelphia's Temple University School of Medicine will be published online in the October 27 issue of Gene Therapy.
Lead author Professor Kamel Khalili said scientists were originally examining plant extracts from St John's wort in vitro to see if they affected cell growth or the behaviour of brain cells.
They subsequently found that plant extract inhibited HIV-1 gene expression and replication in infected cells.
After identifying the protein, the group cloned the gene, which they realised was a new protein and named p27SJ.
"It has unique characteristics," Professor Khalili said. 'Remember, it is a plant protein, and so far, to my knowledge, there is no similar protein to that in mammalian cells."
After cloning the gene, the team was able to identify the molecular mechanism by which the protein is able to suppress HIV-1 gene expression and replication, Professor Khalili said.
"Our studies indicate that p27SJ has the capacity to inhibit expression of the HIV-1 gene by interacting with both cellular proteins and viral proteins," he said.
"Since HIV-1 gene expression relies heavily on these factors, p27SJ can block replication by interfering with the proteins recruited by HIV-1 to increase viral gene expression."
Researchers warned that they did not know if the protein they discovered was present in the St John's wort sold as a dietary supplement.

The Word

I have Just been asked the meaning of
Amashiwi now thats a big question.
firstly its the zambian word, for the word
"in the begining was the word..."
When a child is born we look out for its existence using the word, the cry, the noise or the muffled sound of life.
The begining of everything,to each attached eternity as words are passed from one being to the other.
the word is God and God is Man
"man created in his image"
when you look in the mirror youre actually looking at a feature of God, when you utter the word or speak, youre in Gods image
"and the word was God"
so if you take a trip into the motorway of my mind via this blog like all motorways
youll need a journey planner but youll eventually get there. The word everything from My God to all the wonderfull people who are making my stay on this earth so worth while, and if you just hit this blog by accident, join the band wagon and celebrate life via the greatest gift youve been given. The word, others call it the spirit or simply life.
"In The begining was the word, and the the word was with God,and the word was God"
John 1.1

THE ZAMBIAN

I have just been told that there only two types of zambians
the rich and poor
male and female
user and abuser
giver and miser
saint and satanist
the cheating and cheated
drinker and non drinker
with or without talk time
and no state is permanet therefore the poor are convinced would get better
and the rich are certain will lose their fame some day hence the lunacy of politics
and clouded way of thinking secondary to fear

A MANS LEGACY

DAD
thirteen months on after his death
am still wondering and figuring out how
I would best descibe the old man.
apart from being that fantstic bloke

who was obssesed with education.
he preached the tony blair words of education, education, education as the key to our lives and independence as children with an african background.
he grew in the error were independence for africa and the likes of martin luther were the house hold names, to them young black intelectuals in universities , young govermnents and colleges were they were literally God chosen to be apart of the Matriculation
he was a born writer with the sheakspear standard of engilsh in the macbeth
hes handwriting was italic very neat and clear
he always wrote out daily plans , payments
his own commentary on the news of the particular day
he almost started his days by listening to these programmes
he was not concerned about the weather
he had a collection of books and various versions of the bible including the latin
but for some reason I tended to believe I knew more about God than he did.
then i spent some time aquainting myself to the word

i realised that what appeared to be his nornmal spoken vocabulary and wisdom was actually a collection of various parts of the bible.
amazingly i now reflect and realise that his got a massive legacy of which am a part.
he was the first educated guy from his village and now we are all THERE and yet he spent all his life and time hovering his brothers and cousins and their children to schools and colleges and universities almost tagging their legs to the books and wooden stools!!

I wondered why he was so adamant about travelling and being in the know how,.he always surrounded himself by people and he taught 24 hours 7 days a week.
A minster, a diplomat, a member of parliament and most off all ,the guy who loved to know what the ordinary man was thinking and upto and i think he felt so at home with just the guy on the street
i was always buffled at how this man who reads and reads and reads endlesslely found peace with those who were not as knowledgeable as him.
then iam slowly learning that what I have learnt I have to do my best to share with humanity.

"when things are not going your way listen to that caring voice inside saying i told you for its only then youll know which was the spirit of God,and follow it for your future"

WORDS OF WISDOM

Another week is ending and its time to thank God for everything and this time a prayer to our enemies

As we walk about the earth usually minding our business and striving to get to that vision which our loving God has promised us
they are those who may not know who we really are and judge us wrongly and many times so so wrong.
they are those who trully hate our guts

and they say:

1. we are full of it.
2. we think we know it all
3. we think we are perfect.
4. we think we are blessed and yet not
4. we dont deserve what we have
5. we have trully hurt them
6. we are artificial and wont see our true counternance

it is these that we should sit and have time to pray for, for

because of them we say

"Blessed by the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds"
Lord Jesus Christ, Who didst command us to love our enemies, and those who defame and injure us, and to pray for them and forgive them; Who Thyself didst pray for Thine enemies, who crucified thee: grant us, we pray, the spirit of Christian reconciliation and meekness.
